There are plenty of other ways to unlock fighters and this game has so many of them that it seems like they come along frequently. Play it for the story and the arcade-y fights and you won't regret it. Playing through World of Light because you want to unlock more fighters is just a waste of time. Look it up. Playing through classic mode is the only surefire way to guarantee the appearance of a new fighter. Unlocking Fighters by Playing WoL Takes Twice As Long So if you're not sitting on the couch screaming at your friends for spamming Yoshi's tongue grab or getting your ass kicked by a 9-year-old child prodigy via Switch online then you're not getting the full experience. Face it, when it comes to Smash, CPU players should be secondary. Nintendo has built this series into THE game to play with friends and have spent two decades refining the experience of playing with real, actual humans.
